Malimi is one of the elders of the Tawkami Clan. He was captured by the RDA and interrogated about the willow tree in Greenhome, along with the other elders. Nok heard that they had been captured and was able to free them from the humans.

He spoke to Eywa along with the other elders and discovered that Eywa could not see the humans. He was among the Na'vi present when Onantu recognized the omen: a door opening when Nok spoke.

He appeared with the other elders at the top of Floating Cave in the Highcrags to inform Nok that he was the Alaksi Nari. The elders also traveled to the Blightground to offer Nok some support there.
