About me Edit

My role here is as a science-fiction enthusiast, particularly in the realm of 'hard' sci-fi. While my career is that of a computer scientist in real life (I hold a BS of Computer Science from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, and will be continuing my education to graduate coursework in January of 2010), I also have a passing familiarity with physics and mathematics, and an interest in basic materials science. I'm also a weapons and military history enthusiast.

As a result, most of my input on the wiki will be in the form of deriving hard figures from the occasional dropped comment within the script, offering possible explanations as to what certain technological items' capabilities may be through observed results of their use, and generally trying to make the real-world science and the on-screen art merge together into one elegant, beautiful, believable whole.

I'm also an avid roleplayer, and a relatively non-creepy example of a furry (I don't play dress-up, for example -- I simply like roleplay anthropomorphic creatures).
