For all you philosophy wonks out there, my favorite writer Ken Wilber has finally done a 1-hour audio interview discussing and reviewing Avatar. I have really enjoyed it (made it about halfway through last night) and here is the link. Ken Wilber's Avatar Review
It's free, and I suggest downloading it into your iTunes or whatever as an audiobook for the best listening experience. For those not familiar with his work, I will add the disclaimer that this is fairly intellectually challenging stuff and a bit "heady"--not your typical movie review. If you want to learn more about his work, here's a link About Ken Wilber , he is one of our local treasures and a tremendously sweet guy, in addition to being scary smart. James Cameron Working on Gulf Oil Spill CleanupRead more >
In recent weeks I have been pretty upset about the Gulf oil spill and the damage to wildlife in the area, I found these links for organizations that are rescuing birds and other animals. They will take monetary donations or donations of Dawn dish detergent (what they use to clean off animals that get caught in the slicks, yes Dawn really does get grease out of your way!).
Even a little bit helps, the more people who get involved the more we can do to save our fellow creatures from this mess.
Wildlife Rescue Teams are in the Gulf now mobilizing to save as much wildlife as they can.

Okay I am assuming that waiting for/picking up your Avatar DVD will not take up the ENTIRE day so Happy Earth Day! It's raining today so it looks like the Dandelion Festival may not happen (yes, we have nothing better to do here than deep-fry dandelions), I will have to find something else 4-year-old friendly to do to celebrate. Anyone else have special plans (other than rushing home to watch Avatar for the 14th time... ;-) )?Read more >
