More plans for Avatar 2

James Cameron recently attended a sustainability conference in Manaus, Brazil. While there, he discussed his plans to bring the cast of Avatar 2 to the Brazilian rain forest so that they can learn about "the natives and what real life in the jungle is like." Joining Cameron at the conference was ex-California Governor and former Terminator star, Arnold Schwarzenegger. Cameron brought Arnold to the Xingu River, an area previously threatened by a massive dam project. He also introduced the former movie star to some of the indigenous leaders that he met on an earlier trip to the region.

Cameron chooses location for new studio

Cameron also has said that Avatar would never have been made without her. The image of a four-meter-tall blue woman was based on a dream his mother had one night and later related to him. Cameron plans to build a 4,830-sq/m Lightstorm Ente…

According to The Guardian, James Cameron has gathered a team of engineers together in Australia and has charged them with the task of creating a submersible capable of traveling to the bottom of the Mariana trench. Once there, Cameron plans to shoot footage for the sequel to Avatar. Initial tests on the hull have been completed and a test dive could happen later this year.

The Mariana Trench is the deepest spot navigable on Earth and the 35,800 foot depth has only plumbed once. In January 23, 1960, two men in the steel submarine “The Trieste” dove to the bottom.

Although this isn't really a blog post so much as a news item, I just wanted to share it because it …
